View Full Version : Need help with model 11 ejector already read faq!

I cannot for the life of me drive out that retaining pin for the ejector and read faq. Extractor came out like a breeze. Need some help as i have a brand new barrel itching to be installed and headspaced! Thanks yall.

google it or youtube,i use youtube alot,used it today on installing a timney trigger and adjusting trigger pull

What diameter is your drift punch?

Pin goes in & out from side that has small notch cut. Use 1/16" drift punch

used 1/16 punch. i watched youtube and its really in there. I see where i need to reinsert where that "D" notch is. I have been trying to drive it out via opposite side where my 1/16 punch fits in. that appears to be the logical point of entry to punch it out or am missing something here.

yep that is the tutorial i pulled up when i meant read faq already. if i have go and no go gauges is it imperative to pull it out? I DONT want to hurt myself or ppl around me when i go to range. this is my first time rebarreling a savage, but understand the head spacing concept.

Leave the ejector in, no problem.

^ +1 to the above, I never take the bolt apart to set head space ^

Agreed.When the barrel stops turning and extracts the gauge you are close.
