would a stevens 200 in 30-06 be a small or large shank? looking to maybe redo it in 308. has a 200 tag on it at the local pawn.

It would be a small shank don't think they ever made a Stevens 200 in a large shank version. If you mistyped and mean "action" which is what I think then it would be a long action.

Rosco is right . Stevens 200 in 30/06 is a small shank barrel in a long action. Many people have converted then to 308Win. :-)
Good price, too.
I have done a few .308's in long actions, they work fine.

I built a .243 on a Stevens 200 Long Action and it is EXTREMELY accurate. Great action to build off of.

yep go get that and build a .308 with it. Those 200's are great actions to build off of as I built 3 off them.

went back today and got it . still under 220.00 with the taxes. probaly wont be able to do anything to tax time but at least i have it in the pile.in my local pawns rifles go very fast....
