So I had $6k to spend on a rifle and extra for optics. I don't like rem. Was looking at accuracy int, sako 85 varmint, fn, sig, the lot basically. I found savage model 10 hs precision that has never been scoped only had barrel break in done on it then the bloke scored over seas job handed it and license to a dealer and left, got it for $1k, They retail here for $2200. I'm not about flash looks or street cred I'm an ex serviceman who did 2 yrs behind a accuracy international as a sniper. All that matters to me is moa accuracy down range, all the way out too 800m+, reviews tell me I'm safe with this decision. I would have preferred the Macmillan stock but hey $1k that leaves a lot of coin for any changes and Ill give the HS stock a chance first. I'm not expecting sako smoothness nor does it worry me as long as it feeds properly, extracts properly and can group better than MOA I'll be happy. But that said I'm open too any suggestions/mods that will make this cheaper rifle stick up right up the pointy nose members of the community. (I almost built a custom ruger to do exactly that) It's obviously the newer action so any stock changes or mag changes will require the right info so I don't purchase the wrong ones,

Good Pick!!
Now you've got plenty left over from the rifle budget to pick up top quality optics, a new stock (if needed), a set of Wilson neck dies, arbor press, Lapua brass, etc. And still have $$ left over from the rifle budget.

I'm also on my first Savage, a 260 LRP after 40 years of being a Rem 700 or custom guy. Still working on loads, but so far several under 1/2" @ 100 yds.
