I once had a link to an instructional which told how to bed a Savage. That 'puter
crashed and a search is not revealing it. Does anyone here have such a link? A
poster on another board is asking how to do it. I've found that a picture is worth
a thousand words, just as they say!

Ya know that web site that shows you how to do stuff...utube? That's where I learned and I've done three so far; one Savage, one Thompson Center to a boyds, and an old mil surplus. The only difference for a Savage is that you will want to float the tang. That means you can (and should) bed around the rear action screw but that the tang (the area around the safety) should have clearance from the stock. By the way, you don't have to pillar the action screws or you can do it afterwards. It can be tricky so pay close attention and I bet you can do it. Or just pay someone, its not that much.

I found this http://www.longrangehunting.com/forums/f37/savage-bedding-tricks-60640/
Maybe it will help.

Thanks, PM, but I was just looking for some instructional for another guy. Having done four Savages, I know how to
do it, but do not explain it very well for this other guy.
