I looked at one last year, in blue with wood. It felt small like short length of pull. Light weight yes. The best way to describe it was like shouldering a 10/22. I did like it,but I passed on it. I know not much help.

i have the Trophy Hunter 116 with stainless and synthetic stock. Its light and shoots pretty well..

Cannot find any locally but this sounds like it might work since I'm 5'7" with a 12.5" LOP.

I have a LWH 16 Stainless (.308). It's light and kicks like a mule. Fairly accurate, have gotten as good as 3/4 moa with factory ammo. My only dislike is the cheap tupperware (non-accustock) stock. Any other questions, just ask.

Looking at the stainless version, I wonder how much lighter this gun is than a standard model 11 with the same stock (think XP package) and a barrel that's been shortened to 20" ? I very nearly did this to my .308 model 11 XP, and might still. If that LWH stainless is 5.65 lbs. then a standard model 11 with the same stock and 20" barrel can't possibly be more than 6 lbs., and would be a lot less expensive.

The 16/116 LWH was a mid-year release so distributors didn't have the ability to include it in their initial large orders which are placed in Nov/Dec. You'll see availability of them increase greatly this year as they were on list this past fall at the wholesaler show.

I recently purchased a Savage 16 LWH in 7mm-08. I also have a Savage 111 LWH with a 23" FW 280AI SS barrel. I just sold a Savage 11 LWH that I purchased in 260 Remington. I recently found a used Savage 11 LWH stock which I refinished in Tru-Oil to replace the 16 LWH synthetic stock. I also replace the synthetic bottom part with metal including the grip cap and sling studs. The picture below shows a comparison of the 11 LWH walnut stock verses the synthetic 16 LWH stock. I have bedded the synthetic stock and epoxy filled the forearm just forward of the recoil lug to try and eliminate flex. I also have painted with silver and black webbing paint to improve the looks and give more texture to the slick plastic. I find the 16 LWH synthetic stock disappointing when compared to the Savage 11 LWH walnut stock. The 11 LWH walnut stock is scaled to the more compact LWH action and 20" FW barrel for a nice fit, finish and handling. It also has a 1" Pachmayr decelerator recoil pad. The 16 LWH stock appears to be nothing more than a full sized Savage synthetic stock with spongy recoil pad and a 16 LWH action and 20", FW sporter barrel. The 16 LWH stock is also about 2" longer as seen in the pictures below. It does not have the fit and feel of the scaled down, compact LWH walnut stock. The question becomes, what is the difference between the Savage 16 LWH and Savage 16 Trophy Hunter XP? The synthetic stocks with Axis style DBM and synthetic BBR trigger guard are pretty much the same except for the checkering pattern. The 16 LWH action weights about 1.5 ounces less and has a spiral fluted bolt body verses the standard Savage 16 SS action with jeweled bolt body. The 20" barrel has a FW contour and weights 2 lbs, 0.5 oz or about 4 to 5 oz less than a 22" Savage factory sporter barrel. So out of the box, the Savage 16 LWH weighted 5 lbs, 12 oz compared to a Savage 16 TH at around 6 Lbs, 5 oz without scope. I'll let you make the decision on which Savage model is the best value for how you intend to use it.

I plan on comparing accuracy of the 16 LWH using both the LWH walnut and synthetic stock. Waiting on scope and warmer weather.
