Hey guys, I have a bolt face that does not appear to have an extractor? The one between my thumbs in the pic. I'm comparing it to another in an action that has the extractor. Both come from savage long actions (magnum)

For the bolt face between my thumbs, I want to know if this stock or custom or ? Just want to know what I got so I can understand the pros and cons. Thanks for any feedback.

The one in your thumb is a controlled round feed bolt head. It uses a v-spring ejector that is located in the receiver. They only used these in some magnums. The one in the gun is a standard push feed.

I never forget a face. I came across the controlled feed bolt heads when I was working on my magnum project. If memory serves, it can be made to partially work in the bolt of a push feed gun, though the gun would extract but not eject the shell casing.
