Hello all, I am going to try changing my Left hand, 110, blind magazine, stagger feed rifle into 223rem. I have been searching for days, & feel pretty informed on what parts this will take. the gun was originally a 30/06, that I re barrelled to 6mm rem. the biggest challenge I see will be to make the 223 magazine fit & feed properly. I would like it to be a repeater. I could have sworn I saw a pic someware of a short action mag fitted to a long action, with a modified tab fitted to it. for the life of me I cant find that pic again. If anybody can post it, or show what they have done along these lines I would appreciate it. thanks for any help, Mike.

Yeah, sometime back I think Fred posted that pic.

Basically you use the front tang on the mag and make a extended "L" bracket mounted on the rear. IIRc Fred used a screw to attach it , but I'd probably cut off the original tang then tig or solder the new one on. All you would need then is a 204-223 follower and a extended front baffle to shorten the bolt throw.

It's just a piece of 26 ga. sheet metal bent in an "L" fashion and appropriate lengths.http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y48/sharp-shooter/223conv.jpg
