If you do, I would like to know if you have the BC for this bullets and the drop chart....I have a drop chart but only up to 1000 meters and I would like to know if someone has more information.
thanks

S&B 338LM is normally loaded with the Sierra 250gr HPBT Match bullet. Here are the specs for that bullet. Then you just have to figure out how fast it is shooting out of YOUR rifle to make a ballistic table. There are lots of apps for your phone, your computer, and your wind meter out there to get you in the ball park. You'll have to actually get out there and shoot to confirm all that potential data.

Dia. (inches) .338 Weight (grains) 250 Sectional Density .313 Ballistic Coefficients and Velocity Ranges

.587 @ 2150 fps and above
.606 between 2150 and 1700 fps
.576 between 1700 and 1400 fps
.484 @1400 fps and below

1st link is to the JBM website and has a lot of great info.

http://www.jbmballistics.com/ballistics/calculators/calculators.shtml

2nd link is the actual calculator. Plug your numbers in and see what you get

I thought that the velocity of the bullet will be the same no matter why type of rifle I use....I thought that I as soon as i use the same bullet in different rifles the velocity will be consistence. The s&b have a velocity of 2880 ft/s

This calculator is really complex, I have a lot to learn  A lot stuff I don't know

The velocity of ammo will change in every barrel. Barrels are different lengths, bores are tighter or loser or smoother our rougher. Air and ammo temperature all will change ammo velocity. It's very complex!

Ok so I will need to buy a chronograph and test my rifle ( stock savage 110ba 338) with this particular bullet, once I get that, the bullet calculator will do the rest once I input everything related to temp humidity etc. correct?

And windspeed and spin drift and 5 other things, I'm sure.

Then as the bore wears, velocity will drop...

Yeah....now you're getting the idea. I great book to read is by Bryan Litz (Applied Ballistics for Long Range Shooting).

I contacted S&B and they sent me the coefficients for the 250g and 300g, is the higher of the number the less drop the bullet will get?
BC for the bullet 250 grs HPBT is following:
- for the conditions ICAO 0,577,
- for the conditions METRO - 0,587.

BC for the bullet 300 grs HPBT is following:
- for the conditions ICAO 0,755
- for the conditions METRO 0,769

The higher the B.C., the less it is affected by wind and resistance to travelling through the air.

So the 300g bullet is a better bullet right?....I was thinking that because it is heavier bullet, the speed will be less than the 250g and that was going to bring a lower BC but I guess I'm wrong.....well it is good to know I will buy some and try them.
Thanks!

You need to see which bullet works best in your rifle. A higher bc bullet will do you no good if the rifle doesn't like it and it won't group.
