So I bought a savage 200 from a guy who had lost the sear spring. I bought it with the intention of replacing the spring but I've had no luck finding one! It's the pre-accutrigger model. I bought one that was made for a 110 thinking it would work and it was too large. I've also tried making a couple without luck. They've not been strong enough to reset the sear. I was hoping I could find some help here to find a replacement spring. Thanks in advance!

sear from a 10/110 is the same as the Stevens 200 spring. What makes you think the one you have is too large?

Well, according to THomae, in the post above, I am mistaken. Surprises, me, though. Never would have thunk it, and sure wouldn't want to second guess Thmae, either. Still, what makes you think it won't work?

I got it and it was one winding too thick. It wouldn't slide in the slot. I tried cutting it down one and it made it too weak to work.

Have you tried going to the Savage Arms web site, Store and Partfinder tab. Type in your rifles serial number and find the sear part number. Then give them a call and tell the Savage Arms service representative you will sign a liability release in order to get around the "gunsmith" requirement.

I put the serial number in and did that but I figured I just couldn't get around the gunsmith thing will they let me do that you think?

Call them and tell what you want and say you are willing to complete a release of liability form. They will sell it to you.
