I just started reloading the beginning of this month and my press was mounted to a microwave cart.

Before / After Pics

Yesterday I got a free old used kitchen base cabinet on Craigslist, which is something I have been looking for to turn into a reloading bench.....It was old but usable for what I wanted to do with it

You need to move your bench to the left....i cant see it very well as the top right picture is distracting me.

The hell with your loading bench...send us some of your portfolio!

No, I'm sorry. It looks like an INDOOR (as in not in the Garage like the rest of us "Great Unwashed" ) re-loading bench. I am so jealous! The war department has headed me off at every attempt to pull that off!

So, what cartridge are we starting with?

I wish I had a garage or a basement.....I started off with doing .308 using Varget with good results for my first time loading experience

Good Deal. I just re barreled my 12 BTCSS Varmint tonight to a a criterion .308 WIN, so I'm starting reloading .308 too. Have been reloading .223 for several years so looking forward to same precision in a bigger boom!
Good powders & good bullets for .308 WIN are numerous. Lucky for us, Varget and it idiosyncrasies are by no means the only Excellent powder for that cartridge.
What rifle are you rolling this stuff for?

The only firearm I have in .223 /5.56 is my AR15 and I have tons of federal ammo for that so I didn't bother to start off learning to reload with that caliber so a month before I bought my Lee press kit, I had bought a Model 11 Hog Hunter in .308 >>> http://www.savageshooters.com/showthread.php?46197-Boyds-Tacticool-on-Hog-Hunter-308

The first thing you need to do is upgrade the bench top. That mickey mouse particle board will not hold up to the pressures you're gonna put on the press. (That, and send me that top picture!)

For future reference this is a family friendly site so be a little more mindful of what's in the background of your pics.

added for a bit more press strength......one inch treated pine board + 3/4" particle board bolted together with 1/2" bolts, washers, lock washers, nuts....as well as bolts, washers, nuts on press.....Im new to reloading so I hope this is fine just for .308 reloading.....I know I cut the board to long, but thats why I bolted it down more towards the back, plus I have a 2.5" overhang in front of the bench
