Mine don't like the Hornady 168Gr Superformance.......

What do you find that works the best? (Im talking accuracy here)

My old barrel like Federal PowerShok 150 grain but your may not, you will have to try as many different brands as possible to find the one your gun likes.

Factory ammo is about reliable economy. Powders change constantly. Mass produced rifles have a range of allowable barrel tolerances. Your request, while well meant, is no more specific than: "What do women want in a guy?"

I was told by quite a few people that the 30-06 likes a 168Gr bullet, but I'm sure that's not always true.
I have some Federal and some Remington that I will try next.
Thanks guys!

Back when I shot factory ammo in my 110, it shot everything well. The point of impact would change from one brand to the next, so everytime I changed brands, I had to sight in my rifle again. My model 11 in 7mm-08 is a different story. It does not like 140 gr remington core lokts. Couldn't get it to group less that 2" at 100 yds.

I'm grouping at about 2.5" with Hornady and about 2" with Winchester super ,,,and that's at 65 yards,,,,it sux!

I don't mean to insult or question your abilities, but are you sure it is the rifle and not you? When I "test" ammo, the rifle is in a very stable cradle. I then check the groups with shooting off sandbags.

I had a lot of problems shooting my 111 30'06 but it taught me a lot about rifles also.1st found out my rings were loose, then the rings were junk, then found out the stock was loose, then I found out the screws and bases were loose and had oil under the bases

Federal Powershok 150 grain seem to work well in my old 111, but no two rifles are the same and there is no perfect ammunition. Best bet is to just shoot a bunch of different rounds and see what works best the most often.

Still working on it guys. Its looking like the Hornady Whitetail 150Gr is working out pretty good.

The gun was taken apart, cleaned and oiled. I installed the DNZ scope rings with blue lock-tite. Everything else is tight.

I did go through the break in procedure also.

Just to let you know Im shooting on a lead sled at 100 yards. Its not me..........its the ammo.

Thanks for your help............

Lead Sleds are not famous for producing accuracy, only for taming heavy hitters, which I don't consider the 30/06 to be. For accuracy, rifles need to be allowed to recoil, as is evident in the fact that recoil feature is built into Rail Guns.

I can shoot 1/2" or better groups at 100 yards with my 22-250 on the same sled.............
