Cabela's Savage 12FV THREAD FEST

Just bought the cabelas savage fv 223. Putting weaver t36 scope on it. What rings height rings did you use ? I think I will put 20 moa rail on it to good of deal to pass up $419.00 with 100.00 rebate. Marty

I used Warne weaver style two piece bases and the Zee Signature mediums was about right for my 40mm bell. A rail might put you a tad higher and maybe low rings will work. I dunno.

I went with Warne rings and mounts.

I have a rail on the 111 (it came with it, ie used aka my project gun). It sits the scope a bit higher than I like, will see how I feel once I get the bull barrel on it (308 for now, 30-06 when it gets here)

For the heavier calibers the rail may help beef up the action though I would use steel for that purpose.

The FVs are marked at $349.99 which is $70 off the regular price of $419.99. How can anybody pass up these rifles at a final price of $250 after rebate?!! They actually had all four calibers in stock to boot. Go. Go now...

Its been about a year and half ago so I don't recall exactly what transpired. I did submit it even though it was obvious to me that the $100 rebate was intended for rifles that cost upwards of $1000. For that reason, I did not contest the fact that they did not honor it.. It does say Model 12 on the website but if you look below it specifically list the various model 12's that it was intended for and the 12FV was not one of them. I heard people say that they have gotten it so definitely give it a try, just be aware that you may not get it..

Cabella's printed out the necessary rebate information for me at the time of purchase which I submitted along with the necessary form to Savage the first week of May. I got a post card in the mail Friday that I had not submitted a serial number so I copied the paperwork I sent originally (with the serial number) and mailed it back Sunday morning. They are at least looking at them!

My rebate on the status website has shown IN PROCESS since May 9th.

I sent mine in at the end of March and contacted them at the middle of May. They "hadn't received" the stuff I mailed but would take a scanned copy I made for just this eventuality. Mine has been "in process" since May 13th. I thought about buying the 223 version too since its on sale, but my wife would probably kill me.

Man makes me mad I bought mine on march 30. I paid $419.00. Wish I would have waited 3 more days for the $377 price. I think I will buy another maybe the 308 this time. Marty
