What are you guys paying for these out the door I paid $370 plus tax for my first one in 22-250. It shoots 1/3 to 1/2 MOA groups. I was so happy with my first one that when it went on sale for $320 I purchased another. There was a $100 Mail in rebate on my second one, so I have about $242 into it after sales tax.

But since the question was out the door, $369.99 +tax for my first and $319.99 + tax for the second.

Got the Choate Tactical Stock with CDI bottom metal installed from E Arthur Brown (eabco.com) today. CDI provides new longer action screws, but upon torquing forward screw to 65 pounds, discovered bolt would not open. Had to grind a couple 2 or 3 mm off the forward screw and then torque to 65, bolt traveled freely. The Stock is rough looking on the inside with tool marks on the bedding block and where the recoil lug goes, but hey, for $200 the stock seems perfect. CDI bottom metal was fine once that forward length was addressed. Don't know why CDI doesn't make their holes big enough to accept a #8 or #10 stainless washer, that would keep you from grinding on screws. I went with MDT Magazine and it seems to be feeding flawlessly. Harris-clone bipod snugged down tight on the Choate and you can adjust it front to back just by loosening and tightening. The stock feels great and I don't think it added just a ton of weight. If I'd had another ~$250 to blow I'd have went chassis, but Choate looks like it will work.

Can't wait to get this rig back to the range and see what $420 investment did for my groups!!!

The SSS enhanced extractor kit fixed my problem. It extracts and ejects beautifully now, even if I baby it. $20 well spent.

I totally agree, I just finished installing my kit and now it ejects just like it should. I just don't understand why Savage can't do something this simple before they ship.

My rebate cards aren't working, one I'd activated had $26 left on it was declined today. I tried to activate the other 2 and was told I had the wrong zip code. Anybody else having this issue?

The normal Cabela's price for a 12FV is $419. A couple times per year Cabela's puts them on sale for like $379, and that will typically marry up with a Savage $100 rebate. So pre-tax you can have one at certain times of the year for as little as $279 before tax.
Speaking of rebates; Does Savage just offer the rebates willy-nilly or has there been a pattern to them? I missed out on the 12FV last fall at $219 and still grumpy about it. Online my local Cabelas showed them in stock but when I called the store the next morning they didn't have any left. Ended up cancelling the order since they couldn't guarantee the rifle would make it to me in time for the rebate.

It won't even let me activate the other two, says wrong zip code. The same zip worked for the first one.

No. Never heard of such a problem. Gotta call the rebate company. They will make it right.

Called them yesterday, and they activated both cards and confirmed the balance on the one I'd previously used that didn't show up either. Not sure why they wouldn't activate online.

It has been hit and miss with my cards. I had to call 4 times on my last card and run through the activation before it was finally accepted at a store. I was about to give up, but 4th time must have been a charm. I have one left to use, and I tried it today and it worked. I will be glad when I have that one spent. The extra money is nice, but kind of a pain in the butt when they don't work correctly.

On sale again, no rebate though. Got the 6.5 on the way. I had $250 in gift cards and another $70 in my pocket change gun money/cup, so ~$70 out of the wallet.

My 12fv CM is starting to group tighter. They are a sweet deal no matter the price.

Seeing stock status getting low on one Cabela’s I placed my order with another equidistant that showed in stock. Now, Mother’s day is Sunday and my Wife’s favorite Greek eatery is near the Cabela’s. Hmmm.

Can anyone tell me what tool is required to remove the action from the stock on the 12FV? I just got word my rifle is ready for pickup and tomorrow is to be a good day for a drive in the convertible. One problem: My trunk is too small to bring the rifle home in one piece.
