That’s not a bad looking piece of wood!I agree! So glad I didn't put money into Claro X or XX, this wood is nice enough.

But I'm changing the checkering from "stippled" to "scales". I think it would be hard to clean dirt & blood out of the stippling.

I was all excited to put on my new walnut Heritage stock from Boyds today but unfortunately I screwed up & ordered Bottom bolt release instead.
Now I have to return it and wait another 2-3 weeks. It will cost me $30 re-stocking fee, better than I thought...

Anyone else still waiting on theirs? I've got my email saying it was ordered 11/24 and they'd send another email when it shipped. But I haven't seen anything yet.

Nice stock. I see its cut for a dbm. Are you going to add bottom metal or use the factory dbm?

I ordered same day as you and picked it up last night. Check your order status on Cabelas website, they didn't send an email when it shipped.

Sometimes I think that stuff just happens. I ordered from SWFA a couple years back and had horrid service. However if you look around online they appear to be one of the better. Not sure why happened with my order, but I guess anything can happen.

I have their 12 X 42 and could not be more pleased, especially considering the $300.00 price.

That really does look nice. I've been tossing around the idea of having a traditional hunting setup. Why did you choose the Heritage vs the other options?

I didn't like the finger groove & cutouts on the forearm on the other styles.

I'm beyond frustrated with Cabelas. They used to be my go-to for all outdoor purchases because their customer service was top notch. Since the buy out and changing the bank that handles the Cabelas card, their service has gone to shit.

The 22-250 I ordered on Black Friday is still on backorder, but the site shows in stock. I called today and after a 45 minute hold was able to speak to an agent. She told me they were in stock to buy at the store but not to fill backorders. I then spoke to a supervisor that said the first agent was incorrect, there are none in stock and they don't have an ETA to fill the backorders. I'm tempted to order one today at the full price and see what happens.

Yeah, I think that cabelas is not what they use to be. The salesman scratched my new rifle on the tang because he had no idea how to insert the bolt. I filled out the survey from the sales receipt requesting that the manager email me. I have heard nothing. Use to be they were top notch. They usually run a little higher prices than can be found elsewhere shopping around, but I don’t mind paying a small premium knowing I will receive great CS. Hopefully it’s only temporary as they get the buy out stuff all sorted out.

I would hate to see them turn out like Remington and the conglomeration of the sister companies.

Ordered mine 11/21 and picked up 12/1. They had the 6.5CM 12FV "in stock" at the store day I ordered but wanted none of that first day of the sale. No wait when I picked mine up and no complaints here. From the rebate form:


Purchase must be made between September 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017, and the reward form along with required documents must be postmarked by January 31, 2018. Consumer must submit reward form with product UPC barcodes cut from packaging, original cash register receipt and/or dated itemized sales invoice. Please allow approximately 6 to 8 weeks for delivery.

Online process is simple, less than 5mins in my case, and much faster than mailing hard copies which, if lost, you're screwed.

A word of warning about submitting your rebate online, it's not as simple as it seems. I made my purchase online and picked up in-store, and that complicates things.

Before submitting your rebate online do this if using a scanner to upload your documents as the webpage requests: Combine the UPC code on the end of the box AND your store receipt into ONE IMAGE. The online form only allows you to upload ONE image and your request will be rejected if you don't have both. The UPC code to use is the end of the box with the product description, hopefully Cabelas didn't put their sticker OVER this as they did on my last purchase.

I gave up after talking to Customer Service (800-998-8758) and will resubmit via USPS, making copies of everything of course.

It's worth it though. Got the Black Friday price of $319 plus the $100 rebate on my 6.5 Creedmoor 12FV. Can't beat that with a stick!

That's very disappointing, TD! I ordered a 12FV in 6.5 CM on Nov 24th getting the Black Friday sale, and got the phone call and email this Wednesday 12/6 that it arrived at my local Cabelas. Picked it up same day. Have you checked your spam/trash in case the email was misdirected?
