Thanks. I'll report back with my full setup once it's complete in case it can help out anybody else.
I need to do the same....Ordered 10/14, P/U 11/10 at the Hamburg location...
Sat for awhile deciding on optics, base, and rings...Went with Leupold base, Burris extreme lows rings and Vortex HS-LR 4x16x44 scope.
Shot zero with Hornady 40gr V-max, Varmints Express...
Prior to optics, had time to procure single feed ramp and adjust accutrigger just under two pounds pull....Perfect right there...
Zeroed at 100 yards and looking forward for more happy shooting days.

My holes were loaded with whatever coating was on the gun. Had to order a tap and run it through several times to get the trash out. The screws are still really tight going in.
Mine had trash in the tapped holes as well. A #6 48 tpi bottom tap took care of the problem. It's good practice to check tapped holes this small before trying to install a scope base. It sure doesn't take much to mess up threads on screws this small.

No stranger to trashy mods with 10/22s etc. So took my new 12FV and did the Rockite job. Filled and free floated the forend and then addressed the stock. Cut off the butt end of a couple of 10/22 barrels and jammed them in the buttstock of the 12FV then rockited them in. Just a shade under 14lbs, balanced in the hand at the blind magazine. Can't wait to shoot this thing.

I'm picking up my 12FV this Saturday. Any suggestions for a scope? I have a 100 yard range. Thanks!

What caliber? What are you going to do with it? What is your budget? Put a cheap 4-12x40 Nikon on it and call it a day...

Its a .223. I'll probably go with the Nikon you recommended. What do you think about a Boyd's At-one stock?

Congrats Mr. Rye whiskey....First off, you opened a can of worms....Budget, application, hunting, target, fixed, variable, So many to choose....I attended to procure a Leupold VX2, 6-18AO, but settled with a Vortex Viper HS Long Range and didn't look back...When you pick up your FV, hold up a few scopes which by then you have narrowed down your search....my second time on range with the vortex gave me four rounds within a dime, one Frinkin flyer....not to far though, again second range day, so yes, I'm a fan on vortex for now. Good luck and congrats.

Thanks for the Vortex info. I'll look into those. I'm impressed with your Sazerac knowledge. Spend time in New Orleans?

Just picked mine up about 30min before close and was in and out in about 15min so far first impressions are the trigger is set great and the barreled action seems awesome. Next to sell my axis 243hb to get a new stock, dies, powder and bullets.

I am now just waiting to see which I will get first, my rebates or my order from Optics Planet. 2 weeks on the O.P. order. I have made a note to myself never to order from them again.

Sometimes I think that stuff just happens. I ordered from SWFA a couple years back and had horrid service. However if you look around online they appear to be one of the better. Not sure why happened with my order, but I guess anything can happen.

Pretty hard to beat the Nikon Buckmasters for an affordable, good quality scope. My 2nd choice would be a Sightron SI, heavier but also a good quality optic for the $

I was all excited to put on my new walnut Heritage stock from Boyds today but unfortunately I screwed up & ordered Bottom bolt release instead.
Now I have to return it and wait another 2-3 weeks. It will cost me $30 re-stocking fee, better than I thought...
