Is there a website where you can the status of your rebates? I've got 2 rebates mailed in , and would like to know the status of 'em.

Yes, thanks for the link!

With my Axis HB and two 12 FVs, I see I have $250 in rebates pending. A portion of my brain reasoned, "That's enough for another 12 FV!"

I picked up a 12FV in 308 (thanks to this thread) on 6/27 and shot it today. I'm sure I could spend a lot of money on mods, but my last 4 shots were all touching at 121 yards. It'll work great on Indiana deer. I love this rifle. Thanks for spreading the word about the sale and rebate.

Does anyone have pictures they would like to share of their 12fv with a Boyd's or other aftermarket stock installed?

This was originally a 12FV in .22-250. Stock is a B&C Medalist A2. I bedded it in MarineTex as well as opened the barrel channel. The barrel is a new 28" Criterion .260 Rem Match bull contour. We'll see how it does.

How often does Savage offer rebates and Cabellas have a sale? If it happens again I'm going to get one or two of them.

IIRC, Savage usually has a fall and spring rebate program. There should be another coming up in a few months. As for Cabelas, typically around Fathers day they put the model 12 on sale. Picked one up last year in May, and another this year.

This years purchase was a 22-250 model 12FV. Shot some factory rounds to break it in while my reloading dies were on their way, and then once they arrived, loaded some 55 grain V-Max over IMR 4320 in a 3 shot load work up starting with 3200 fps and progressing in 100 fps intervals per Hornaday manual. None of the groups were over a half minute at 100 yds, and the best, right at max of 3600 fps grouped an amazing .053".

Can't beat a Savage for out-of-the-box accuracy!

When did Indiana allow centerfires? Last I knew it was pistol cartridges only.

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkI've got a 260 rem barrel on the way for the 12FV I picked up. Other than the barrel channel, was it a drop-in fit on the B&C? I'll probably shoot it first with the factory stock and replace if I'm not getting the accuracy I need.

The stock required some minor fitting. The cutout for the bolt handle was rubbing and wouldn't allow full articulation to close the bolt. I had to use some small files to open it up about .020". Other than that, barrel channel was opened and sanding in the receiver area to clean the transition from fiber glass to the bedding block. This was more for glass bedding than anything else.

Indiana just passed the law this Spring allowing rifles that shoot 6mm bullets and 7.62 bullets, but nothing in between. This opened up a lot of cartridges. The law is set to be reviewed in 2020. There is a bigger story here, but I'll spare you the details. The good news is that the 12FV is going to clock in for work.

I am doing the same stock in a .223. Then, I will get a CDI DBM and have them inlet the stock.
