Alright, ignore the unevenness.... this was my first barrel channel opening, and it occurred to me about halfway through that I might be doing more of an arc than a straight motion. Sure enough....
Anyway, you can hopefully see the space on the sides. Couldn't find the calipers, but a dollar bill slides healthily in, and there's still room that could be taken on either side (especially if you do it the RIGHT way and keep it straight!)
