Hammersley barrel?

Anyone heard of this? I have an old benchrest rifle with this name stamped on the barrel. have search the net but can't find anything on it.

I could not find anything either. That is why I asked, thought maybe someone had heard of them.

I think I remember reading the name in one of my books about guns.
I will have to try to remember this post and post back here if I run across the name and post what book it is in.
