308 1995 Palma Chamber

I have an opportunity to buy a barrel with this chamber, and although I have read a bit about it, I'm not sure I totally understand the difference between it an a well done SAMMI chamber. If I get a Palma chamber, what differences can I expect to deal with, advantages/disadvantages, etc.?

This chamber was designed for brass prepped a certain way and throated for 155 grain bullets. According to Nate Lambeth and some of the other Smiths on 6br forums it is fine for up to 185 Bergers. It is tight so full length resizing is a good idea.

IIRC, there is more to it than just chamber. Officially there is a different Bore/Groove diameter spec as well. But that may or may not be the case in what you are looking at.

Thanks for the feed back guys. After doing more searching on the subject, I decided the Palma throat is too short to handle the long/heavy pills I want to use. So I passed on that barrel.
