I am getting closer to finishing this build and I would like to start gathering powder and primers before it is finished so I have them on hand. What are some of the tried and true selections for this chambering shooting 80 VLD and 75 AMAX. Also what primers are you using. Take in to consideration that most of my shooting will be done when it is 30 and below and the rest when it is 85 and above. Also, does anyone know of a load manual that covers your non traditional cartridges, or is it a trial and error process starting with the non improved version? Thanks in advance.

mcnamara0851, I am also working on an 8 twist, 22-250AI. I was hoping some folks here would respond with some info here!!! At this point, I have 100 pieces of Lapua brass fire formed. I have tried H-4831sc, H-4350, & now, I'm experimenting with RL-22. All loads after forming have been with the 75 A-Max. Problem is, I'm still searching for an accurate load. Hopefully someone with knowledge, & some experience will share their ideas! Idaho-45

Well I hope I have better luck than you did with those powders because I just picked up one more pound of each last time I was in town! Post up some pics and details of your build.

I have been shooting 34 grains of IMR4350 under a Berger 80 hybrid. It is fast and accurate. As soon as the barrel comes back I'm going to try some IMR4451. This barrel also did good with power pro 2000.

I've settled on H4350 as my powder of choice for the 22-250AI shooting heavier (75-80gr) bullets. Been wanting to try Superformance powder, but need to find some first. Brimers I typically use CCI BR2's. Sierra's manual has data for the 22-250AI.
