Dean,

Planning on ever trying your hand at the 22-06 duplex load???

I have always wondered about that load , and to this day I still don't understand how the bullet that is deeper in the case, does not mushroom into oblivion.

Maybe a standard ~50gr boat tail at the top and a round nose beneath it would still give enough room to allow the neck to tension the internal bullet?

Or maybe stacking 2 or 3 #F shot pellets? That should make for a pretty devistating pest control round... probably not anything worth writing home about in terms of long range (or even mid range) accuracy, though. But who knows...

Or even #F shot behind a varmint bullet. Kind of like making a Savage combo rifle with one pull of the trigger...

I think that 500/375 would shoot doubles & triples pretty well. Push em with a sabot for round ball ammo.

I think your on to something, and would be less reluctant being a straight wall case.

I think Dean needs to go to "AA" for big cartridge addicts and use a pellet gun next time his Border Collie needs some quality time with Mr. or Mrs. Squirrel.

(My addiction has just started .......... I have a converted Savage barrel bought on this forum in .22-243 AI 40 degree (Clymer) that I have not mounted yet ........ and played with 300 RUM and .257 STW already ....... yes, it's begun .......... pellet gun for me too!)
