Got my remage 6x55 sitting in the mud right now....hoping it pops outta the stock tomorrow. This waiting is a killer!
Its my first bedding job, did pillars too. Ill post pics when/if it comes out lol

Most people who offer post regarding their first attempts at bedding a rifle have a common theme. I believe Tom Petty said it best, "the waiting is the hardest part", but I suspect that he wasn't talking about bedding a rifle. Then there is Carly Simon's, "anticipation".
Just showing my age and cultural bias.

The great thing about a screwed up bedding job is you can gouge it out and start over again, assuming you don't machanically lock the action to the stock.

But once you do it right you think hey,that wasn't too bad after all. Then you start looking for other guns to do it to.

Well....im not sure how good this is going....I took a nap before work and ran down back to check on things real quuck. Untaped, unbolted and such. Followed the Richard Franklin method of "popping" it out and nothing. Worked with a little bit, and no luck. I admit I was in a bit of a hurry and hopped online real quick to see what I did wrong. Saw several posted they put a rifle in the freeezer to help release....so..I figured why not. Right now its sitting in the deep freeze and will be there till I get home in the morning and then Ill try again.
I was under the impression and good whack with my hand would "pop" it out. Hmm.....
Any suggestions? Lol

Scooter, sending good karma your way. I ALWAYS pop mine out after 4-5 hours of setting up, not just because I'm terribly impatient! The bedding compound is still barely pliable and IF there is any place where mechanical lock is happening (I have had some close calls!) the epoxy/bedding can be removed. At this "half cured" point, cleaning the over run, the always present bit by the barrel, etc, comes off very easy. After tidying everything up, I bolt it all back together for the full cure time (I usually leave it for about a week at this point).

I bet the "freeze then whack" method will work for you.

I feel your stress, I do. It's a killer, but you're almost certainly alright.

I smack the stock and the action with a rubber mallet all over when they stick.

Valium and/or Xanax helps, too.

Just got home from work, took it out of the freezer and whacked it with a rubber mallet a few good times and it popped loose! Yippee! Lol.
Took some working back and forth to get it out but it came out...
Gonna post some pics later today or tomorrow as soon as I get time.

Heres the finished product. Im pleased with it being my 1st bedding job. I cleaned it up some with a dremel.

Ended up bedding a couple inches of the barrel too, maybe it wasnt needed but its a 1in bull 26in barrel, and its easy to remove if need be.
