Just ordered a Axis and trying to figure out what ammo to try.
I want to limit the choices to ammo costing 50 cents per round or less.

This is what I have picked so far. What else can you recommend?

PMC Bronze 223 Remington Ammo 55 Grain Full Metal Jacket-Box of 20

Federal American Eagle 223 Remington Ammo 50 Grain Tipped Varmint-Box of 20

Armscor USA 223 Remington Ammo 62 Grain Full Metal Jacket-Box of 20

Remington UMC 223 Remington Ammo 55 Grain Full Metal Jacket-Box of 20

Fiocchi Canned Heat 223 Remington 55 Grain Full Metal Jacket-Box of 50

Thanks

The only factory ammo I have shot out of my Axis .223 is Rem. UMC 45 gr JHP. These were shot out of a brand new rifle while breaking in the barrel. I was getting 2" groups at 100 yds. Now I get between .29 and .54 inches at 100 yards with handloads, using 50 and 53 grain bullets.

If you go here http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ammunition/rifle-ammunition/223-5-56.html?p=2
and look for the AE223GTV as WBM advises, its selling for $5.99 a box of 20 and I think you find it shoots very well.
