Hello all, I am savage owner and very happy. About 5 years ago I bought a new model 111 in 7 mm rem mag for deer/elk hunting. Decided I wanted something a little smaller for deer and looked at all rifles but again I got another model 111 in 25-06. I rebate last yr helped with my decision however pulled the Nikon BDC and installed a Zeiss conquest HD.
very happy with what I have until I shot my buddies mossberg 308 and started to fall in love with that round. So last spring I'm hunting down a 308. Going price per quality the shopping continued. Last June I walked into cabelas and found a model 10T. Feel in love with it and what do you know but a $100 rebate.
Since then i threaded all three guns for a can and had a custom 7mm break made for that rifle. I love the 7 mag but both shoulders (I try and keep up on my left shooting) really don't appreciate it much so I hope the break helps 20%.
The difference between the rifles is the 7mag is a top load and the 25-06 and 308 are mag wells. Doesn't bother me as I normally top load the 25 also. The 308 i single feed at the moment as I'm starting to get into reloading.
