I have 111 LRH and the stock has started to peel. It has a what appears to be something similar to Dura-touch on it. I would like to paint it and was looking for some guidance on how to do it. I'm looking for the best way to get the outer coating off and then paint it from there. Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure how to get the old finish off but when It comes to painting I'm quite fond of sponge camo. I use camo rustoleum from the local big box store and then spray a couple of coats of Testors dull coat model paint over it from the hobby shop. It has proven to be tough as nails for me. This is my little truck, tractor knock around the farm carbine in OD Green and Khaki.

Sponge method is good. You can use as many colors as you want.

I like the sponge camp job. It looks great! Did you spray the Testors dull coat on?

Yeah the Testors dull coat comes in a small can and a can will put several coats on a rifle stock easy. I get it at a local hobby and craft shop. I have sprayed it over a satin finish before and it knocks the shine right off and turns it flat. I was really surprised how durable it has been and how much it improved the durability of the camo rustoleum paint. I wasn't really worried about having to touch it up due to dings because it's so simple but I haven't had to after using the dull coat.

Here is a 110 accustock painted with Duracoat. Sanding the stock first and wiping it down with acetone will do wonders to keep your paint on the rifle.
