Hot greetings from Phoenix,
I am a new guy from Phoenix. I just bought my first Savage rifle a 111 in .270 caliber with a Nikon 3X9 BDC scope and composite stock. I have hunted with a .270 Winchester Model 70 for many years. As this is a pre-64 and in excellent condition, I decided that it needed to be "retired" to the gun safe. It has been a loyal companion for years and has taken deer, elk and the occasional coyote. The new Savage is lighter, more durable and has better optics. While I have not been to the range yet, both of my sons have taken elk with their Savage .270 rifles.
I am looking forward to getting familiar with my new rifle.
