Are the bases that come on the 93r17's weaver or picatiny (sp)?

The standard Savage issue is Weaver style front and rear.

I am setting up a new one that my father is giving my mom for her birthday and I tried some Weaver quadlocks with no luck. Couldn't get them tight enough where the wouldn't wiggle.

The bases that Savage uses are the ultra cheapies. You would be wise to replace them with a quality brand.
