Haven't read too much about this powder, but it sounded like a good idea...so I bought a pound to try. Also got a pound of Varget since it is held in such high esteem.

:)

Got some 69gr SMK's and 75 gr A-Max's to try, and I'm looking for a suitable powder so I can start some serious load development for my 12LRPV (.223, 1:9 twist).

Thanks!

So far I have burned through 3 lbs of it with great results. I am using it in the 6mm PPC.
I have found that 8208XBR has little if any thing in common to the old Military 8208. My Savage PPC is pressure sensitive, and I found that the XBR produces less pressure, than old 8208, N133, and H322. In the 6PPC I can get 32gr of the XBR in the case and it is up to the top of the neck, and no pressure signs when fired. The Old 8208 29.2 gr is half way up the neck, and I was blanking primers. I love the XBR it has made this gun a super shooter!

I can not say that it is any more or less accurate than N133, the both look good. I know that when I push N133 hard I get a hard bolt lift, XBR so far I have not gotten a hard bolt lift. Best 100 yard 5 shot group I have shot with it so far is .180, I did have a group that some how I missed a condition but the first 3 shots measure at .025. Most groups have been in the mid .2 area.

Nice shootin' Tex!

:)

I have some en-route, so we'll see what's what. I always like to try "new" things.

Two groups shot back to back the other day.
The first one measures at .180 the second is the group that I talked about that measures at .025.

I think It would be a great powder for the 22BR.

While not on-topic per se, may I ask what your point of aim is on those BR targets? I was going to try some the other day.

The center circle is called the "Moth ball." I hold to the top of that at 12 O'clock. On a true BR sighter target there is three moth balls.

Most BR shooters want their "Print" (Groups) to be on the up wind side of things. The targets that the groups are on the right side of things the wind was coming from the left. Most shooters don't want to take out their "aim" spot. Some shooters hold off at 6 O'clock on the moth ball. some "Bracket" (Place the horizontal cross-hair on the top , and the vertical cross-hair on the side of the moth ball.) Some bracket off the box. Some just place the dot in the center of the moth ball. It is just personal preference. I like the 12 o'clock hold.
