How many different magazines has Savage used in the last 6 years or so? Did the center feed mags just come out? Are the receivers machined differently for the different styles? Thanks for any input.

2 different feeding styles, older staggerfeeds and newer centerfeeds. Then you have variations off each of them(detach mag, blind mag, hinged floorplate).

Yes, the actions are machined differently and are not interchangeable.
