Just snagged a pound of RL17 to work up a Long range load , have decent loads with 140g Bergers hybrid and vlds as well as a 136g Lapua Scenar L load but was looking to squeeze that little bit extra velocity from rifle for 1400+ yard shooting. Varget and h4350 have shot well at 600y range on paper so almost hate to swap up but with the guys over on the hide ranting and raving about RL17 as well as a few guys on here figured I'd give it a go and see if it can hang with my current go to loads. Thanks in advance . Shooting from a savage m112 lrp w/yhm suppressor .

if your looking for velocity gains RL-17 will do that for sure and you may want to try some RL-19 RL-22...and or RL-25(if you have the case capacity)....according to quick load all three will give you the same or more with less pressure....try the 17 then try the 19.

RL-22 and RL-25 don't work too well with the 6.5 Creedmoor. RL-17 and RL-19 work well,as do H4350,H414,Hybrid 100-V and a few others.

gotcha...i dont shoot a creed...what ive found in a 260 with 100V is that it gets squirrelly quick at higher charges in the heat.

Nope. They don't. Anything in the burn rate of H4350...like RL-17....seems to be a very good choice with 140gr bullets. Probably why Hornady ended up there.

I did not have too much luck with RL22 in my 260AI either.

I did not get more fps with R 17
Stick with H 4350 i get 2830 with 142 smk 42.0grns in same rifle. Shoots 6" @ 1000 sometimes better.
