Hi everyone. So yeah I got a 1925 99G as a gift from the in-law's a few months ago.
It's a matching numbers all original (case included) gun with 300 savage barrel and 410 barrel.

I am having it restored to it's former glory but I need help!!!!!!!!!!!

On the 410 barrel, there is the screw that pushes the forearm in place missing!!!!!!!!!! That's the only darn thing missing, and it's preventing me of mounting the 410 barrel.

Before I am taking it to my gunsmith, I am doing some research to see if anyone would have this, or know where to get it. Or if someone has a 410 barrel for sale, etc.

OR!!! If someone has the same gun or barrel I would be so grateful to get some close-up pictures of the screw. Worse case scenario, my gunsmith will fabricate a new one with the pictures.

Please help a fellow savage lover! :)

You can see here some pics of the screw. The pics with the barrel missing the screw is mine.

Thanks for the help guys!!!

The one thing I will tell you is DONT DONT DONT "restore" that rifle. That is a great way to ruin the value. It doesn't look bad at all from the pictures. As to anything missing, cant help with that. That's a nice and uncommon set, if the rifle is mechanically sound do yourself a favor and leave it alone.

Mine is the one in the first picture. The other pictures are from the internet to show the screw I am missing.

Mine has a lot of surface rust spots on the steel. That's why I want to have it done. A few cracks in the wood also.

Repair the wood, have it re-coated, re-blued (steel). Inside of barrels is in mint condition.

Thanks for the advice. I am not closed to suggestions, so I will surely take yours into consideration.

If you modify any rifle consider the value gone out the window. I learned my lesson on modifying my $3000 Weatherby Mark V Lightweight rifle. It was worth $1000 after.

Who said anything about modifying?

Restoration would be considered a modification. When it comes to collectors and value, an original/unmolested gun in fair to good condition will always be worth more than one that's been restored to mint condition. It's all about the originality when it comes to collector value. If it's not something you ever see yourself selling and don't mind that restoring it will hurt the value, then by all means do the restoration if it will make you happy and appreciate the gun more.

Thanks for the comment!! :)

Will take that into serious consideration since I don't really need the gun. I think I'll leave it as is for a few years and reconsider when my kids are older since it's from their grandfather.
I'll let them decide in 15 years.

But still, if someone has that screw! I'm a buyer. It's the only thing missing.
