Folks were buying them two and three at a time when I got there around eleven. Picked up the last two they had this morning at start of sale at the local Cabelas. They've taken them off the website as it is an in-store price only. $200 off the regular price of $589. V-plex reticle, 30mm tube. Hurry if you think you might want one. I bought one for my model 12 .223 and one for my shooting buddy , but he's not sure he can afford it right now, so may return it or put it up for sale.

I got one as well. Last one they had. :) Medium rings should work?

Looks like it's out of stock right now though. This is one of my biggest gripes w/Midway. They put stuff on sale and then they go out of stock quickly. You could backorder it if you don't mind waiting, that's a heck of a price for that scope. I have 2 already and really like them.

Here's another place to look http://www.cameralandny.com/optics/vortex.pl?page=vortexviper6-20x44

Thanks for the reply. I was under the impression it was the HS version, not the basic Viper. Thanks anyhow.

So, good quality glass. I am not really sold on the small point of view when looking through this scope. Just in case anyone else is thinking about it.

Do you mean field of view? Comparing it to other makes/models with the same magnification range they're all pretty much identical at 17.5-18' to 6'. A small FOV is the whole point of a high magnification scope.

If you need a wider field of view just back the magnification down a little.
