Hi,

My 10 flcp-sr is in and I'm picking it up today.

http://savagearms.com/firearms/model/10FLCPSR

All I'm adding to this rifle is a 20 MOA rail, scope and a usgi cotton sling.

Slings I have.

Looking at picatinny rails is confusing me.

Any suggestions.

The longest range I have is 600 yards.

Thanks, mj52

So here is a thing you need to be aware of: Picatinny Vs. Weaver style.
The slots are different dimensions. For many applications it won't matter, but have seen people try and use Pic rails with Weaver rings, then cuss the mfg because of a DFO issue.
Unless you have a tin-can for a scope, that has no amount of adjustment, you won't "Need" to have a base with any can't to achieve that distance.
A Scope with little internal adjustment, AND burning up a bunch of it just to get zeroed can get you to the point of needing something.

I'm an idiot.

Opened the box and there is a rail already on the rifle. I'm going to contact Savage tomorrow to find out what it is.

Sorry, mj52

As far as I know, all Savage factory 308's are 10 twist

I have noticed on the web site the flcp is listed as 24" barrel and the fcp is listed as a 20" barrel. Am I wrong that these were the same weapon just one left handed and the other right handed

FCP is available in both 20 or 24 inch barrel. L is lefty designation.

Left handed is available only in the 24 inch barrel, FCP available in 20 or 24 inch

Forgive me for ruining the suspense... It's an EGW 0° rail.
