I recently traded one of my Carving Duplicators for a pair of rifles... a 1946 Savage 99 (Utica, 1946) in 250-3000, and a 1958 Chicopee Falls .308. I was knocked over when I saw the .308... It is probably 98% condition, with a few small dings in the wood. It is probably the finest Savage 99 I have ever seen. I sold it on Gunbroker, but added the caveat... Will pay the buyer $50 not to follow through. I had remorse right after I listed it. Lucky for me, the buyer had a problem, and asked if he could get out of the deal ($1,050 sale price)... although he asked to be contacted later if the rifle was still available... seems he was born in 1958.
This rifle is incredible, and I guess I should keep it. It is near new, with a bright shiney bore, perfect blue, and only a few minor dings to the wood. You don't get much better than this. My only hesitation in keeping it is the worry that it may be stolen. I have had my place cleaned out in the past. Lee
