I have a 338 Lapua Model 10/110 FCP HS Precision. Just for the sake of it I ordered some Hornady 225 grain SST bullets.

I’m interested in data if you have developed an accurate load with this bullet. From what I read the 1:9 twist might be a bit too fast for 225 grains but I’d like to hear from people who have experience with it. I have H1000, 8 lbs of it, so that is the powder that I will be using.

And on a side note, if you’re a hunter what do you think of this bullet?

Thanks!

i use sst in my 308 for hunting and it works fine

i have the 225 sst for my 338 lapua, i load them because they are cheap like 30-35 per hundred vs 35 for 50
i use 7278SSC powder
just start low and work up in one grain increments YES 1.0GR at a time dont waste your time with less then that its large and holds lots of powder
also if your lookinhg for cheaper bullets check out shootersproshop for 338 bullets or powdervalley in their specials section

Motoman006,

Thanks for the info. How tight could you get your groups?
