feeding issues

building 111 and it came with a detachable mag.i am trying to use a fixed mag and follower but the bolt goes over the round when it hits the feed ramp.push feed bolt head and stagger follower. any ideas would be greatful.it is a long action 30-06.

Some more information and maybe some pictures might be helpful. Such things as original chambering, new chambering, etc....

did some research and im more confused then when i started.the magazine box can be attached to the receiver so does that make it a stagger feed or a center feed. if it doesnt work with a stagger feed follower do they make a center feed follower for a fixed mag.

If the magazine attaches to the receiver, it's a stagger feed. I wouldn't recommend using a center feed follower with it.
If the rifle was originally a stagger feed detachable model, What components have you changed so far?
Still would be nice to know what chambering it was originally....
Also, is there anything stamped on the magazine?

original barrel was marked savage 1100 series j in 30-06.i received rifle with no stock and am trying to use a blind mag stock and box and follower i bought from midway.
