Very nice! Did that include a cold bore shot?

Nice shooting!

The only factory ammo that I have used and gotten decent groups from has been Black Hills Match. I've never tried the stuff you are using.

Let us know how you do in the challenge.

No that was after about 6 shots, i just cleaned the barrel so i was fouling it up to start my cold bore data for the challenge. But man does that stock savage shoot, and that accutrigger is amazing. And i wish that included a Cold bore shot!!!
Eagle eye has impressed me multiple times now, the biggest thing i love about it is no matter where i order it, what shelf i get it off of, my POI is alwasy the same, very very minimal shift, they have it at brownells and ventura munitions, last i look at venture they have it for 30 a box which isnt bad.

I did a review in the ammo section on it and some others ill post the link after i go find it.

Federal gold metal match shoots quite well as the afore mentioned black hills. The black hills for the price is quite good especially the .223 rem stuff.

Great shooting. Can't go wrong with the 5r barrel. Love mine.

so after a week or so of practicing, this is in no way my first attempt, more like my fifth or sixth... heres my best Snipers Hide 100 yard Target challenge

I would encourage everyone to do this challenge, it can really help you hone in some skills, and it shows you how hard it can be to make 20 shots count in a row.

the set up is the same as above, everything was shot prone off a bipod and a rear bag.

i think the hardest part about this was the 3 5 shot group targets at the bottom, its way harder then it seems and it really sucks when your doing really well and you pull one outside the circle and it mentally screws with you from there on out. Cold bore wasnt that bad if you know you rifle really well and how it shoots, i have like 2 pages in my shooters book related to cold bore shots so that wasnt the hardest, the zero group is nice to use but it puts you past using 1 box of ammo if you use it to zero, i had 2 extra round so i used them to check some adjustments. Really understanding how your gun shoots as it heats up to is important, this savage is awesome, not to much shift as you get shooting and its predicable each time.

if you have a good set up and good ammo, the 3 dots in the middle can tell you alot about your shooting, i was at the point where i could almost call the shot after letting one go with out even looking and it really came down to trigger pull so that help me alot.

talking your self out of making continual adjustments its hard doing this to, since its a precision challenge it was hard to keep my fingers off the turrets everytime i didnt like a shot.

Its alot different then shoot steel silhouettes i can tell you that!

for those of you who havent checked it out you have to check out that Eagle Eye Precision Ammo, brownell and ventura has it stock, think ventura is cheaper, i have about 10 boxes i had bought over the past couple months, think there was about 4 or 5 different lot numbers mixed in. My Zero and CB shot data was the same through all those lot numbers, i never made any adjustments and no matter what box i pulled from it was like it was all one big lot. Very impressed.

for anyone looking to do that challenge you can google "Snipers Hide 100 yard target challenge" and it will be the scout.com link.

good luck!
