After some time watching the local auctions I was able to fill another hole in my safe.

I picked up a Model 99G , Ser.2681xx Mfgd. 1924 .250-3000 Savage!!!

Now the search continues for a .303 and .22HP..............

Too bad the stock has been replaced, the "G" had a pistol grip and checkering. The caliber is a plus. Also noticed the rear sight is not correct and it has aftermarket sling studs. Kind of a deal breaker on value but as a shooter it should be good to go.

I've always had a bug for the .25's. There is a M110 in .250 Savage in my cabinet along with Rugers in .257 Roberts and a.25-06 that shoots like a laser. I put in a pre-bid as soon as this 99 showed up on Proxi-Bid. Watched a 1933 M99 in .30-30 go for $800 right after the rifle I got!!! We have a really good auction house, but timing is everything. On the wrong days, the collectors come out of the woodwork and drive up the prices. On other days you can get some real sharp deals. One day a few years ago I watched a Stevens single-shot go for over $1,000 and the next gun was a NIB Browning BPS that sold for $180......!!!!!! It's always amazing to see what sets them off.

That's a great buy. I traded for an E model two years ago in 243. Got it straight up for a beat up gen 2 glock 17. Great trade IMO. I love that rifle.
