I wasn't paying attention when I purchased a bottom bolt release action and planned to pair it with a B&C M40 stock that has the top bolt release inletting. Looking at the pictures of the two stocks (top and bottom bolt release styles), it doesn't appear to be a problem, outside of the additional inletting on the right side.

Am I missing something?

Bottom metal seems to be the more important factor and ordering the appropriate style.

The trigger guard on BBR is slightly wider than trigger guards of TBR and the stock may not be inleted wide enough to accommodate it.

On a few projects I have going I'm using BBR actions with TBR stocks and just keep the regular trigger guard on it. If I'm needing to remove the bolt I'll take off the trigger guard and use the Allen key to move the lever back once its exposed. Its about the same amount of trouble as the BBR is the way its designed.

Thanks for the info. I'll keep that in mind when ordering the bottom metal.
