Hello,

Is it possible to change my internal magazine Model 10XP Predator over to a Detachable box magazine? If so what will I need to do? I have to attachment to the stock if it's as simple a changing out. Or would it be cheaper and easier to try and sell it and get something new? If this has been asked before please post the thread link.

Thanks

CDI bottom medal and have them inlay stock or get a new stock only way to go? Or does Savage sell their own parts for the Model 10 Predator non XP that I could buy and use?

I am trying t do the same thing to my model 11 in 300 WSM. I have a stock picked out form gunpartscorps.com but cant seem to find a kit with the metal pieces needs to do the conversion. I called savage and they said since it wasn't the stock pieces I needed for my exact gun they could not help me. I am going to try to find someone who has the same gun as I do with the non acutrigger and ask for their serial number and call them back and get the parts I need. When I talked to the lady at savage she said she gets call every week from people trying to do the same thing as we are trying with success. granted your gun is slightly different then mine but the concept should be the same. If I find anything out ill let you know

I ordered these parts from Savage

106705 - Frame Assembly, SA NBR (DBM)

106245 - Mag Floor Plate

They said their new stock was #109411 but I didn't order that. Probably going to get a Boyds or Choate stock if I can find one with 4.4" bold spacing

FYI: NBR stands for New Bolt Release, so if your bolt releases at the trigger frame, that's the correct one.

My bolt release is ontop side. So girl at savage gave me the wrong number?

I just called them back and they said that frame assembly works with the top bolt release also. Guess I'll have to wait and see unless you know of a different part number?

106238 is what I usually use. If Savage says it will work, it won't hurt to try it.
106238 works with the non-axis style magazines, the latch is in the bottom metal.
106705 should be for the axis style magazine with the latch built into the magazine bottom, I'm verifying this now....

106245 is a non-axis style magazine bottom.

As referenced on the Savage Parts Finder, J002025 - 10TR, the two parts you ordered will work together providing that your trigger guard is the same as pictured in the schematic, stepped high in the front. If not, you'll need a trigger guard and spacer to fill the gap.
