I tried to test chamber several rounds to include factory match and reloads in my BNIB model 12 LRP 6.5 Creedmoor. I can extract the unfired round, but with great difficulty. The retracted rounds show significant scarring on the bullet. What would you do next? I will call customer service on Monday. Is this typically a quick fix for a local smith or just bite the bullet and send/wait for a warranty repair?

This case is loaded at an OAL of 2.80 with a 140 gr Barnes. I took a magic marker to the bullet and chambered the round and extracted it. This is the result, so it's going back to Savage.

Savage Model 12 LRP in 6.5 Creedmoor. Purchased June 2015.

Tracking indicates that Savage received my rifle today. Hopefully they will get it repaired before the Summer shutdown.
