Sorry I didn't get the 6.5-284 it didn't fit my needs :D but i did just buy it in the .300 win mag. Guys I need some help on this one. I have a budget of about 300-350 and possibly some change. I'm looking at a couple scopes that I have herd would be good with this type of gun. I want something that either comes with or will be able to put on some turrets. So here is what i've found so far..

Hawke Sidewinder 4-16x50 $378.95
Swift Premier Tactical 4-12x40 $298.95
Burris Fullfield II 4.5-14x42 $379.95 ( would come with a little spotting scope)

Anything else you can think of that would be good let me know. Thanks for your help!

If you go to www.swfa.com and then click on the sample list there are quite a few very good scopes that fall into your price range.
There are 2 Nikon Monarch's 5-20 between $250-350, there are some 3200 elites might even be a 4200. Most of these are demo scopes go into that list and SHOP some good buys.

There is a nice Bushnell Elite 3200 tactical in the classifieds right now, and the deal was just sweetened with Burris Signature rings! You will have to buy a membership ($12.00) to see the add but trust me when I say that it is money very well spent! The membership opens up a whole new Savage world.

What will you be shooting at and at what range? That will determine a lot.

I think Pahog still has the Elite 5-15 Tactical for sale. A very good scope for what he's asking for it. Ive seen it in person and it is very bright and clear.

The other thing you gotta remember is you will need one with long enough of a scope tube to fit the long action. Alot of todays scopes are shorter and will be a tight fit. If you are using a 1pc rail then youll be OK though. The Elite mentioned above is well long enough.

I actually used it(5-15)to do the load work on my 22-250AI and had no problem stacking bullets on top of each other, I'm only selling it to get a strictly target scope other than that it's a great scope with great glass and positive clicks. I thought the Mil-Dot would be big and obtrusive but it really was'nt, Be really sweet on a LR Deer gun.
