A 17 rebarrel

I was at the local gun store this weekend and i seen a Savage A17 and I noticed that it uses the smooth barrel nut system.. Has anyone ever thought of taking one of these guns and and replacing the barrel with a 24 inch bull barrel? or am i just to **** picky on my dog guns...

If you want a heavy barrel just wait until next year as they're likely going to show up in next years catalog. Might even get a nice laminate stock on them to which would be a real nice addition.

I'm waiting on a 20" bull barreled .22 mag that would be great.
