.338 Lapua leade

Working up a long range hunting load for my 111 chambered in .338 Lapua. Would like advice re starting point for freebore (leade). Using Hornady's 285gr AMAX. Should I start @ .030 and work closer, .005 and work out? What increments of change worked for you? .005 at a time?

I know it'll end up being specific for each firearm. Just wondering if anybody out there has tips that might shorten the process.
