I am new to the savage world and have picked up a 10T from Cabelas. It comes with a 0 moa rail and I have purchased a Leopold VX-R 4-12 x 40mm CDS to put on it. I plan to use this for a little longer range hunting. Figuring 500 yrds or less. I am not sure if I need low or mid height rings. I cant seem to find any info on other people set ups. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This may help... since you already have the scope and base just use the drop downs to mess with rings and it will tell you if you have enough clearance or not, or if you don't want badger, spuhr or seekins it has inputs where you can input ring height from whatever rings you are looking at.

I have the same rifle and I used Burris signature zee mediums with a vortex hst. I could not go any lower. I have plenty of barrel clearance but my mag ring is very close to the rail.

Thanks for the help guys, I took it to Cabelas and had them mount the scope and was able to use some Warne LOW rings. With the eye relief adjusted the scope barely misses the end of the rail. Gonna be heading out Monday to see how it shoots.

You could have done a lot worse. I think you will be very happy. Did you get the QD's?

I really didnt have much of a choice, the Warne's is the only 30mm set of lows that they had. No they aren't the QD's. I wanted a decent set of 6 hole, but these should do ok.
