Model 11 detachable box magazine to blind CF magazine

Can the action on a detachable box magazine be readily adapted to a blind CF magazine? Is the box magazine engagement in the stock, or is there a mating feature to the action itself? Need to know what I am getting into before purchasing a donor rifle, as stock selection is more limited for the detachable magazine. Thanks

yes. if the detachable box magazine is cf. you will need the small L clip that helps secure the rear of the magazine.

It all depends on whether your prospect donor is a centerfeed or staggerfeed action.
A centerfeed action requires the simple task of removing the bottom from the magazine and installing the mag and follower into the blind magazine stock with the addition of an L-bracket, available from Savage. You do need to have a centerfeed stock to drop the parts into. I haven't done the conversion on a staggerfeed, so I'm not sure what parts are necessary for the conversion.
