This was my first build. It started life as a bone stock Stevens 200 in .223 that my grandfather left to me when he passed. I knew I would never sell the gun and I had no use for the .223 so I decided to make something unique out of it.
Bison Gun Works spun me a barrel chambered in 6.8 SPC II. It is 16.5 inches long and about a medium varmint contour.
Ordered a walnut stock from Boyd's that turned out to be super nice. I find these Boyd's stocks to be a great value.

Sent the bolt head over to MCA to be machined out to fit the 6.8 cartridge. It took just a little bit of work with a file to get reliable extraction when I got it back.

There are a few other niceties from different places like the stainless trigger guard.

It is topped with a Nikon Prostaff 2-7x32 that I picked up on clearance.

Really like this rifle although I don't have any real use for it. It's just something unique to keep around and show off.

What did they charge for the barrel? They're right down the hill from me and I need to give them some business.

I see you are in WA. You might be thinking of Bison Armory. Bison Gun Works, LLC is a guy named Jim Walters. I believe he is in LA.

Side note: I have purchased a 6.8 barrel for an AR from Bison Armory and it was top notch.

You would be correct.
Two different companies.

How does it shoot? I just came across Bisons site in the last day or 2. Just curious how they were to deal with and how the barrel shoots. Looks really good btw.
Thanks

Thank you all for the comments.

Actually I haven't made it to the range with it yet.

Jim was pleasant to deal with and seemed knowledgeable about twist rates and such. He recommended me a different twist rate than the one I specified because he had a blank on hand that would be cheaper than having to order one and we agreed that it would not make much of a difference with this rifle.

He always responded to my emails and the barrel was in hand within 4 weeks.
