Was fooling around with an adjustable stock for my daughter. Fits and shoots pretty well. Got myself in trouble trying to take the barrel off. Somehow got the nut cross threaded and ruined the threads. It shot all over the place anyway. But then I realized it was an old j series with the recessed barrel so I need to find a new barrel for her or my old man is going to dive me all kinds of grief. It was his rifle as a donor.

A good gunsmith can easily rebarrel that one.

Thanks all. Yea I have the barrel off I am thinking about ordering a replacement barrel from Shaw.

What material is the grippy stuff on the stock? textured wood?

Yea I used a dremel with a burr cutter. I used to do checkering but that will make you go blind. Or give you hairy palms I forget which
