I got the itch to do a barrel swap on my Model 12 308 and found a good deal from another forum member on a 6BR Shilen barrel, Lapua brass, 107 SMK's and dies. After the easy barrel swap and headspacing I loaded 29, 29.5 and 30 grains of Varget at 20 thousands off the rifling and also touching the the rifling and had a .5 to .75 MOA result. I then loaded the same recipe using RL15 and the best load was 30 grains of RL15 at 20 thousands off. With 30.2 grains there were pressure signs. The pictures shows 2 fouling shots and the next 10 shot string punching out the bullseye. I think its a winner.

All the 6BR shooters say to jam them 20 thou into the lands for the best accuracy. Work up your loads again.

Saw two 1.25" three shot groups at 500 yards from two different shooters in a competition north of Minneapolis in March.
