savage 12 stock modified to fit savage 11 vt?

Has anyone tried this? I bought a savage 11 with a heavy barrel from Dicks sporting goods and its an exclusive to them. It has the bottom bolt release and a 24 inch barrel. The action is the same as my 12. I put my 11vt into my old 12 stock and it fit like A glove, but the bolts werent long enough and the trigger guard didnt fit. I dont need the detachable box mag, so i can make a plug to fill the blind mag cutout in the stock.

Sounds like a bit of Dremel work and long action screws and you'll be good to go.

I wonder if regular model 12 screws will work? Im gonna try it when i get home.

go to the hardware store and get longer screws, if they are too long trim them back.
